卵巢癌被列为马来西亚第四大癌症。虽然卵巢癌在 50 岁以上的女性中更为常见，但任何人都可能患上卵巢癌，并且有一些特定的危险因素会增加患上这种疾病的可能性，例如糖尿病、超重和吸烟。

尽管治疗方法有了明显的进展，但大多数病例都是在癌症晚期才被诊断出来，当癌细胞已经扩散到腹部或其他部位，因为卵巢癌在晚期之前不会显示症状。因此，降低了存活率。

需要注意的“关键症状”是腹部腹胀或感觉肿胀、腹部疼痛或压痛以及尿液问题。
