Why Mammogram Screening Matters ?

Breast cancer remains the most common cancer among women in Malaysia. According to the latest National Cancer Registry data, thousands of women are diagnosed each year, with many cases detected only at advanced stages when treatment becomes more challenging.
When breast cancer is found early, treatment is often more effective, less invasive, and associated with better survival rates. Regular mammogram screening can detect changes in the breast before symptoms even appear.
Mammogram Screening

Mammogram

A Preventive Screening For Breast Cancer
Mammography is a specialized breast imaging test that uses low-dose X-rays to detect breast cancer and other breast abnormalities at an early stage. It helps identify changes such as lumps, microcalcifications, and tissue abnormalities, even before symptoms appear. Mammograms are used for both routine breast cancer screening and the evaluation of breast symptoms or concerns.

Breast Ultrasound

A Non-Invasive Imaging Test
Breast Ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging test that uses sound waves to create detailed images of breast tissue. It helps differentiate between fluid-filled cysts and solid masses and is commonly used to evaluate abnormalities detected on a mammogram or during a physical examination.
Every day, approximately 16 Malaysian women are diagnosed with breast cancer. Nearly half are detected at late stages. Early screening through mammography can help detect breast cancer before symptoms appear.

Mammograms and breast ultrasounds do not affect the quality of breast milk. However, breastfeeding women are advised to express milk before the procedure. This may help improve breast imaging quality and reduce discomfort during the screening.

Women with breast implants or augmented breasts may require a different imaging approach. In some cases, breast MRI may be more suitable because mammogram sensitivity can be lower for women with breast implants.
Please speak to your doctor or contact our team for guidance before booking.

Yes. If you have previous mammogram or breast ultrasound reports, please bring them to your appointment. Previous imaging records can help the radiologist compare your latest images with earlier scans.

This promotion offers mammogram screening and supplementary breast ultrasound, if required, at a special campaign rate. To support the expected screening volume while prioritising urgent radiology cases, reports will be prepared within the stated timeline. Mammogram reports will be ready within 10 working days from the screening date. If your report is available earlier, our team will contact you.

Sometimes, a mammogram may show an area that requires further assessment. This can happen because breast tissue varies from person to person. A supplementary breast ultrasound can provide additional information about a specific area of interest after the mammogram.
If a breast ultrasound is recommended by the radiologist during this campaign, it will be offered at a special rate of RM69. The ultrasound report will be ready within 4 working days from the screening date.
