What is Otolaryngology surgery?
Otolaryngology surgery, or more commonly known as ENT surgery is a specialty that focuses on the treatment of conditions associated with the ear, nose, throat (hence the name ENT) and other structures in the face and neck. ENT surgeons may use either one or a combination of treatment methods such as surgery, procedures or medications to treat diseases/ medical conditions.
Not all ENT conditions require surgeries. Some could be treated with medication and other less invasive procedures. The ENT specialist may also perform physical examinations, scopes, scans to further evaluate the condition if needed.
