The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center has been recognised as one of the world’s most respected centers devoted exclusively to cancer patient care, research, education and prevention. In 2016, Beacon Hospital’s radiotherapy has been benchmark against MD Anderson standard by the IROC Houston Quality Assurance Center. By successful completion of this requirement, Beacon Hospital is able to be one of the participating sites for international clinical studies.
Beacon Hospital is the first and only hospital in Malaysia to be accredited for ESMO Designated Centre of Integrated Oncology and Palliative Care for the period of 2018-2023, was re-accredited for 2024-2026. European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), is the leading European professional organisation for medical oncology. The ESMO Designated Centres of Integrated Oncology and Palliative Care accreditation programme was initiated in 2003, in which cancer centres can receive special recognition for achieving a high standard of comprehensive services in supportive and palliative care as part of their routine care.
Beacon Hospital’s Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) programme is the first Malaysian FLS programme endorsed by the International Osteoporosis Foundation’s Capture the Fracture, Map of Best Practice with FLS Silver certification. Capture the Fracture is a global programme to facilitate the implementation of coordinated, multidisciplinary models of care for secondary fracture prevention.
Beacon Hospital has been awarded with the prestigious Malaysia Health and Wellness Brand Awards 2017 for Nursing/Health and Wellness Centre category. This award is endorsed by Ministry of Health (MOH) and it has recognised that Beacon Hospital is the pioneer in the Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) programme in Malaysia and Beacon’s FLS programme is the first in Malaysia to be mapped in IOF map of Best Practise since Sept 2017.
