Gynaecological cancer affects the entire female reproductive system and poses a significant health risk, particularly in Malaysia, where it ranks among the top cancers with high mortality rates. Prevention and early detection are vital, primarily through routine screenings like Pap smears and HPV testing. While cervical cancer can be detected early, ovarian cancer lacks warning signs, making awareness of symptoms crucial. Dr. Bheena emphasises the importance of HPV vaccination and regular screenings to reduce cervical cancer risk as well as the importance of women advocating for their health and discussing any concerning symptoms with their doctors.
