How does a FibroScan® function?

	Ultrasound probe placement: You will lie on your back, and a probe is placed on the right side of your abdomen over the liver area.
	Pulse vibration: The probe emits a low-frequency vibration (a mechanical pulse) into the liver.
	Ultrasound wave: This vibration generates an elastic shear wave that travels through the liver tissue.
	Wave speed measurement: The device measures how fast the wave moves through the liver. The faster the wave, the stiffer the liver — indicating more fibrosis or scarring.
